Red’s Dungeon Diary
Day 44: Dungeon Spiders
Level 8 of the dungeon is infamous for its colossal vegetation, sprawling across the entire floor.

In some places, the growth is so dense that almost nothing beneath the massive canopies can receive even a trace of light. Most of the passages linking the labyrinthine sections to the swamp regions of Level 8 are choked with thick overgrowth. The brick walls gradually crumble, then disappear altogether, replaced by damp, muddy ground that becomes harder and harder to traverse, slowing explorers to a crawl.

The trees in this transitional zone are extraordinarily tall, their vast crowns blocking nearly all light from reaching the ground below. The area is also riddled with dangerous thorned plants, along with countless trees twisted into strange, unnatural shapes—bare, warped, and unsettling. When adventurers begin to notice these changes, they know they are leaving the maze behind and drawing closer to the swamp of Level 8. And that means only one thing: they are nearing the passage that leads out of this floor and down to Level 9—the Womb of the Dungeon.

One peculiarity unique to this region is the dramatic increase in insect life. Spiders, mosquitoes, dragonflies, and many bizarre insect species found nowhere but the dungeon thrive here. However, there is one important truth: most insect species native to Level 8 are relatively small and largely harmless.

Any truly large and dangerous insects do not originate from Level 8 at all—they come from Level 9, the birthplace of all monsters within the dungeon. Some insects from Level 9 migrate away from their place of origin due to overpopulation or territorial competition, eventually settling in Level 8 instead. They favor shaded, overgrown, and humid areas to build their nests.

According to adventurers’ records, the number of dangerous insects and their nests on Level 8 is increasing day by day. At this rate, they will continue to spread and migrate into other floors—a development that is extremely dangerous. In fact, this is already happening, as some insect species originating from Level 9 have been confirmed to appear as high as Level 1, though such cases remain rare.
For this reason, seasoned adventurers are strongly advised to exterminate as many insects as possible. Insects are a class of monsters that reproduce rapidly and, unlike most other creatures, are not strictly bound to their native floor.

One of the greatest nightmares for adventurers entering the shadow-drenched transition zones of Level 8 is the giant dungeon spiders.
These spider-like creatures are colossal in size—larger than a wagon—encased in a tough, chitinous shell that covers their entire bodies, making them extremely difficult to pierce.

Like most insects within the dungeon, they possess lethal venom capable of causing the victim’s internal organs to rot within moments after being injected by their twin fangs.
They also spin webs much like ordinary spiders, though on a vastly different scale. Each web they weave is as massive as a fortress wall, and any area they claim as a nest becomes a labyrinth of dense white silk. Their webs are, of course, incredibly adhesive, and nearly impossible to destroy—almost impervious to cutting or burning.

The most effective countermeasure is the use of weapons enchanted specifically to sever insect silk, or protective enchantments cast upon the body to prevent being ensnared. For once caught in their web, death is all but guaranteed.

True to the nature of all creatures born of the dungeon, these spiders must also seek a host in which to lay their eggs. The reason all dungeon creatures reproduce in this manner lies in the essence of the Dungeon God itself—an embodiment of chaos.

The Dungeon God cannot reproduce without a host, and thus every creature spawned from the dungeon is bound to this same, twisted method of reproduction: implanting their offspring within another living being.

Today, Red finally set foot in the transition zone, after a long period of wandering through the labyrinth’s boundless, directionless corridors.
The air, already damp before, grew even heavier here. The once-solid ground turned into mud—soft, sucking, and increasingly treacherous. The brick walls of the maze gradually vanished as well, crumbling into ruin and then disappearing entirely, surrendering everything to a vast swamp. Towering trees pierced upward toward the unseen ceiling, their massive canopies blotting out all light and plunging the entire area into darkness. Thorny branches jutted out from the mud in tangled masses, while a few twisted, unnatural trees stood bare and isolated, like warped silhouettes frozen in place.

Red took the lantern always hanging from the back of his pack, lit it, and moved forward, knowing the swamp was close now.
Each step became harder as the mud rose to his knees. In the humid air, his fur quickly absorbed moisture, growing heavy and soaked. He had already taken off and packed away his shirt days earlier upon entering Floor 8, unable to endure the constant dampness.

Around him echoed the sounds of water, the low buzzing of insects hiding everywhere—sometimes a winged hum passed right by his ear, sometimes a swarm of fireflies flickered into view. This place was dark, yet overflowing with life.
Red moved cautiously, step by careful step, until he suddenly froze.

Before him stretched a giant spider web.
He raised the lantern, illuminating the web ahead, then swept the light around. Looking up, he saw massive webs strung densely between the towering trees above. Many insects—some as large as dogs—were trapped within them, struggling helplessly, their frantic buzzing filling the air.
Red went pale.
Damn it… this is a dungeon spider’s nest.
The nest was enormous, spreading far in every direction. The path ahead wasn’t completely blocked, so Red chose to continue forward.
As long as I don’t touch the webs… and don’t make too much noise… it won’t notice me.
He tried to move silently, but the wet mud betrayed him, each step producing a soft, sickening squelch. He clenched his teeth, anxiety tightening in his chest.
Then he passed by a web holding a colossal wasp, caught fast in the silk. Suddenly, it beat its wings violently and let out a piercing buzz as the lantern’s light fell upon it.
Startled, Red stumbled backward—and his arm brushed against another web.

Only his arm was caught, but no matter how he pulled, it wouldn’t come free. Worse still, the web began to tremble.
From high above, something massive began to descend.
Panicking, Red yanked his arm with all his strength. Fur tore free from his skin, leaving the limb bare, but he managed to pull himself loose.
Too late.
The creature was already there.
A giant spider, looming before him, stared down with eight pitch-black eyes. In each round, glossy pupil, Red saw his own terrified reflection—multiplied eightfold, staring back at him from the darkness.
Before Red could even react, the spider struck.
With a single leg, it knocked him off balance. He fell hard into the mud, his body sinking as the soft ground swallowed him. Before he could even try to stand, the creature descended from the tree above and landed heavily on the ground. It advanced at once, pinning Red down with two of its legs.

From behind its body, it fired out a mass of webbing. Once a thick patch of silk formed, the spider used its legs to grab the strands and began wrapping them tightly around Red’s arms, layer after layer, pressing both arms flat against the ground. When it finally lifted its legs away from his torso, Red realized he could no longer move—his arms were completely stuck, glued to the earth.

The spider then seized his legs. With a sudden motion, it lifted his lower body into the air, leaving him suspended upside down, almost like he was doing a handstand against his will. It bent his legs sharply and slowly bound them with silk, tying them together until he was utterly unable to move.

Red panicked.

The creature was smart—terrifyingly so. It knew exactly which parts of a body needed to be disabled to prevent any chance of resistance.

After fully neutralizing his ability to fight or flee, the spider paused. The brief stillness made Red’s heart pound even harder in his chest.

Then, from beneath the spider’s body, something emerged.
A tube—long, translucent, and glistening under the fallen lantern’s light. Inside it, Red could see dozens of round shapes suspended within.

Eggs.

The spider’s eggs.

The creature slowly brought its enormous ovipositor closer to Red's exposed hole. The spider wasted no time shoving the long, winding tube deep into Red's gut, causing him to struggle in vain. Even though the tube was already quite deep inside, the spider continued to push further, intending to insert its entire length.

When the spider finally stopped, Red could see a bulge protruding from his belly. Then, without delay, the creature began pushing its chicken-egg-sized eggs inside. Each egg traveled along the tube, through Red's gut, pushing through and expanding his internal walls, causing him to groan.

Each egg that passed through his prostate pushed against it, creating enough pressure to pull his slippery penis out of its slit, drippingg and twitching. The spider began to speed up, tensing its body, and then instantly the eggs flew inside at high speed.

A dozen eggs whizzing past and rubbing against his prostate, causing him to groan loudly before shooting a huge jet of hot white cum onto his face and into his mouth.

The spider stopped straining, seemingly tired, and the eggs slowed down. But without giving Red a chance to catch his breath, the spider strained again, and the mass of eggs shot in at high speed, forcing another heavy rope of cum out, hitting him in the face once more. His stomach swelled with the number of eggs crammed inside. It seemed the spider still had many eggs to lay.

Red didn’t need to worry.
During the time he would be used to incubate the spider’s eggs, the creature would ensure his safety inside its nest. Every day, it would bring him a single insect and feed him by hand.
Can’t bring yourself to eat a raw, foul-smelling bug?
Well—if you want to live, you don’t really have a choice.
