I wouldn't normally do two commissions in a row for the same person like this, I try to spread them out a bit to hit as many people as possible, but my last attempt came out a bit weaker than I would have liked. I don't think I totally ruined it or anything, but some issues spiralled a bit and I was just a little disappointed with the result, so I wanted to have another crack at the character. He had mentioned being interested in another picture during the process of making the first one, so I hit him up and we gave it another go.
I feel much better about this one! Whatever colour issues I was having last time around I seem to have sorted out. Also, here's one example of what I was talking about with the 'splash of colour' backgrounds... it's pretty light still, but it dulls the white a bit. I'd love to know your thoughts!
