Description
Something I quickly slapped together for a few reasons I'll get into. Worth noting, this isn't a highly polished animation! Just a quick test, so it's got issues I didn't care to resolve. Or didn't notice- the weird coloured bars on the far edge of the video are visible in the images but weren't noticeable in my image viewer, so I just plain missed them. Oops.
Anyway, I wanted to throw together something quickly to see how blenders Eevee renderer would handle anmations. Now, it's never going to look as good as the usual renderer, even taking into account the fact that this was pretty quickly tossed together. But it doesn't look awful, and with some further learning and tweaking I could see it getting some nice results. I'll have to sort out the weird grainy effect on their fur, but I'm sure a higher sample count or some filtering somewhere can sort that out. As a quick test bashed together in an afternoon, I'm calling it a success, and worth looking into some more with something more polished.
The second reason I wanted to make something was to show off Gale's ear rig! Some people have been mentioning I don't put enough motion in my character's ears, and that's largely because I found getting them to move in a reasonable looking way very difficult. I didn't do a great job modelling them. But I think I got gale's looking good enough, and built a simple rig to get them moving so we finally can start getting a bit more expressive. Yay!
Anyway, like I said, quick test with some issues but I hope y'all get some small enjoyment out of it anyway!
Oh, also, one final tidbit. I'm having troubles getting videos to loop cleanly... the source images loop seamlessly, but the output has a hitch in it I can't seem to sort out. If anyone is familiar with ffmpeg and knows a way to fix that issue I'd love to hear it! Loops are much better when they, y'know, loop.
