Not going to lie, I was a little shocked to see this one win out over the other more standardly filthy suggestions that were available this month, but it was a pleasant surprise! I guess the patreon folks must like the new marten? I really gotta get around to giving her a name. Or maybe they just miss Nidhala? Either way, fun idea.
I decided to try out a lineless kind of style for this one... I'm not going to lie, 100% of the reason for that one is because a woodworking workshop just doesn't look right unless it has ten billion little things cluttering up the space, and drawing tons and tons of little objects is maybe one of my least favorite tasks in all of art. I'm just terrible at drawing random little objects and keeping them in perspective and stuff, it's not one of my talents. However, painting lots of little objects is a different story... you can practically do random brush strokes and make it look like stuff if they're not the focus of attention. I don't even know what half of that background stuff is supposed to be, doesn't really matter, as long as it sells the idea of an environment full of stuff! So, that's how we got here. Basically, just made it a lot easier.
I don't think I've quite got the art chops to really pull off something amazing in a lineless style like this yet, but with a bit more practice... might be something worth messing around with some more.
