h4.[NC] - Failed Hunt Pt. 16 - "Turnabout"
It's the monthly patreon painting for May! This month, the winning prompt: "Failed Hunt: The wolf tribe out-wits one of the bucks, trimming his antlers and setting him up in the middle of the village for all to use!"
Been a while since we've seen the wolves win one! Turnabout is fair play I suppose...
The prompt mentions this being in the centre of the village, but it wasn't really until I was too far into the painting to want to change things that I noticed that the angle I chose doesn't make that super easy. I thought about having some feet up at the top of the page representing some other wolves milling about the place to help sell the idea a little better, but I didn't like what it was doing to the composition, drawing the eye up to the top of the page for no reason, so I decided to just leave it as is. I did at least try to make it look like a well-trodden patch of forest, clearly a lot of wolves pass through this area and more than a few will likely make use of the buck as they do!
Honestly, based on the way he's lapping at that wolf's bits, I think he's kinda into it. The cute lady wolf riding on him probably isn't hurting things either.
