"… Young drakes (both male and female) in the tribe are sent on a journey a few years after they reach adulthood, however, to embark on this journey, they must first leave all their belongings behind, as they are not allowed to take anything with them (not even their clothing).
They first do a small ritual in which the young drake's body is covered in the tribe's symbols by an elder drake, using blue paint that is extremely resilient (the paint is strong enough to tint the drake’s fur or scales blue for around a month after the paint is washed off the drake’s body by the elder). The elder, ending the ritual, then washes the drake in a nearby spring.
The drake is then sent into the wild, and is not allowed into the village again until the markings fade completely. The purpose of this is not only for them to prove they can survive on their own, its also meant to be a journey of self-discovery, for once the drake returns to the tribe he or she is allowed to choose a name of their own, as well as adding their mark to the stone of …”
