This month's Patreon funded painting! The prompt was "A popular hands-on exhibit at the Museum enjoys scritches/pettings/fingerings from a crowd of visitors just out of frame".
When I was thinking about who would be a popular character featured in the museum series, I started by looking for the most fav'd picture in the museum series, and that turned out to be "this picture":/posts/1806638, which... isn't actually helpful at all. None of those characters are mine and none are really the 'feature' character so it doesn't really point in any particular direction. I feel like that's liked more for what's going on than because of who's in it.
Continuing to search, the next most-fav'd museum themed picture is "this":/posts/1233355, which is just a generic nobody... and the "fingering" part of the prompt made me think the subject should probably be female anyway. Next one down is "this":/posts/619897 ... still doesn't help because neither of those are my characters. (That was the one that started it all though!)
At that point I just gave up on this method of finding who to put in here and decided to just pick. Thinking about it for a while, I realized that the Bluejay "character" of mine has been fairly popular for some reason and we've seen that "she does in fact volunteer at the museum":/posts/2487935, but we've never seen her "at work", so I thought that made for an interesting enough excuse to use her. Once I had the character chosen, the rest of the picture is pretty self explanatory from the prompt so it was pretty smooth sailing. A bunch of people getting real handsy with the bluejay.
While they didn't specifically state she should be getting a beak full o' dick and a creamy coating, they didn't say I [i]couldn't[/i] draw that either...
I think I'm going to call her BJ, by the way. I'm sure there are about ten thousand bluejays named BJ in the fandom... and now there's one more. But I do find it a strangely cute name for a female character for some reason! I didn't plan on naming her, I didn't even really think of her as a character... but since she's becoming rather popular as of late and people seem to like her I guess she deserves a name, and that's the easiest and most obvious choice.
Anyway, there's my brain dump on this one. I hope y'all like it! Lemme know what you think! Y'all happy to see the bluejay again?
